FAQ — Tutus 4 Boo

Question 1

What sizes do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Our ready-to-ship tutus fit most children sizes Newborn through 5T. Each tutu is made with an elastic waistband that stretches to accommodate a range of waist sizes. For the best fit, check the waist measurement on each listing. Custom orders can be made to any waist size — just include your child's waist measurement when you submit your order.

Question 2

How do I measure my child's waist?

Accepted Answer

Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your child's natural waist — the narrowest part of their torso, usually just above the belly button. Measure snugly but not tight, and note the measurement in inches. Include this number in your custom order form so we can make the perfect fit.

Question 3

How does the elastic waistband work?

Accepted Answer

Every tutu features a soft, comfortable elastic waistband that stretches to fit. Ready-to-ship tutus have a standard elastic that fits waists approximately 16–22 inches. For custom orders, we can set the elastic to your child's exact waist measurement, or leave extra stretch room if you'd like the tutu to last through a growth spurt.

Question 4

What do the tutu lengths mean — 3in, 6in, and 9in?

Accepted Answer

The length refers to the tulle strip width used to make the tutu, which determines how full and long the skirt looks. A 3-inch tutu sits shorter and is great for babies and toddlers. A 6-inch tutu is our most popular mid-length, perfect for ages 2–6. A 9-inch tutu is longer and fuller, ideal for older kids or a more dramatic look. All lengths are available in ready-to-ship and custom orders.

Question 5

How does the custom order process work?

Accepted Answer

It's easy! Fill out the custom order form with your child's name, waist measurement, tutu length, fit preference, and up to 3 tulle colors from our palette of 24. Submit the form along with a $20 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot. Once we receive your order, we'll confirm the details by email and get started on your one-of-a-kind tutu.

Question 6

Why is there a $20 deposit, and is it refundable?

Accepted Answer

The $20 deposit covers the cost of materials we purchase specifically for your order and reserves your place in our production queue. Because each custom tutu is made just for you, the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due before we ship your finished tutu.

Question 7

How many colors can I choose for a custom tutu?

Accepted Answer

You can choose up to 3 tulle colors from our palette of 24. We'll blend them together for a beautiful layered look. Not sure which colors to pick? Feel free to describe the vibe — rainbow, princess, mermaid, fall harvest — and we can suggest a combination.

Question 8

How long does a custom order take?

Accepted Answer

Custom tutus typically take 5–10 business days to make, plus shipping time. During busy seasons (holidays, spring recital season) it may take a little longer. We'll always give you an estimated completion date when we confirm your order. Need it by a specific date? Let us know in the notes field and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Question 9

Can I order a tutu for a specific occasion like a birthday or recital?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — that's what we love most! Birthdays, dance recitals, Halloween costumes, holiday photos, flower girl looks, and everyday twirling are all wonderful reasons for a custom tutu. Just mention the occasion and date in your order form so we can prioritize accordingly.

Question 10

How long does shipping take?

Accepted Answer

Ready-to-ship tutus are packed and shipped within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping typically takes 3–5 business days within the US. Custom orders ship after production is complete (5–10 business days), then add shipping time on top. We'll send you a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way.

Question 11

Do you ship internationally?

Accepted Answer

Currently we ship within the United States only. We hope to expand internationally in the future — follow us on social media for updates!

Question 12

What is your return policy?

Accepted Answer

Because each tutu is handmade to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges unless the item arrives damaged or defective. If there's an issue with your order, please email us at info@tutus4boo.com within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right. Your happiness is our priority!

Question 13

How do I wash a tutu?

Accepted Answer

Hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent, then lay flat or hang to air dry. Avoid the washing machine and dryer — the agitation and heat can damage the tulle and elastic. A little gentle care goes a long way in keeping your tutu fluffy and beautiful for years.

Question 14

How should I store a tutu?

Accepted Answer

Hang it on a skirt hanger or store it loosely in a breathable bag. Avoid folding or compressing the tulle for long periods, as it can flatten the layers. If the tutu gets a little squished, a gentle shake and a few minutes of air usually fluffs it right back up.
